Halloween Countdown 2025: It's coming for you.
Prepare for spine-tingling cinematic scares all month long.
October has returned and along with it the 2nd Annual R-Rated Movie Club Halloween Countdown. In 2024, I wrote 6 essays on 17 scary movies that ended up being a mini-movie festival of frights. This year, I’ll have a few new essays, lists of movies I’ve watched, and a subscriber giveaway.
I’m excited to know if you like scary movies and if so, which are your favorite? Leave a comment and let’s get recommendations out there. My goal is to watch at least 31 scary movies in October, perhaps even one a day if possible. That may be a stretch on some days, but we’ll see what happens. What about you?

Glad you’re here today, Dear Reader. God’s peace and good movies to you!

Because it was so scary for me as a child, mine is Aliens by James Cameron. I watched that movie when I was about 9 years old. Freaked me out!
